Our server was excellent! The food was divine. Not sure what else to say but you have to try it out for yourself! Loved everything about this experience.

When reviewing the menu online the obvious challenge is that there is no Sushi or Sashimi. But don’t worry, there is another menu once you arrive! The Salmon avocado roll is especially good, as is the Yellowtail. All of the sashimi was excellent. The house made wasabi was also a nice touch. The chicken yakitori is well done, with different cuts cooked perfectly. I will say that it mostly all tastes like chicken, but very good chicken. Everything was excellent, from the grilled broccolini to the kale salad to the very interesting beef gyoza. The food is very well done, the service is solid. An excellent all-round Japanese meal.

Delicious food. Outstanding service. Nice social atmosphere for going out with friends. Overall 10/10 experience! Highly recommend Faves: - miso tiramisu - pairs extremely well with expresso martini shot - sable fish sushi - waygu sushi - chicken thigh skewer Notable mention: The ramen is delicious! Can’t wait to go back to try more. :)

Our server was extremely friendly and offered us a variety of suggestions.The skewers themselves were with a unique sauce and cooked to perfection. We tried the skin-on thigh, heart (incredibly tender), sweetbreads, tsukune, and beef tongue, all accompanied with a soy-based egg sauce. Overall, the staff was very attentive and explained each skewer as it was served. We will definitely come back.and highly recommend for everyone.

I really like the food and the ambiance ! The service from the bartender/server was excellent. Their cold shucked scalop was so good that I ordered another one. I would certainly come back again. I was impressed by their sake kasu tiramisu. It was so light and not too sweet. They gave me free nigiri with sake and a small shot of martini espresso. That was nice of the waiter. Thank you very much!

Absolutely incredible experience at Shokunin. The food was amazing, and so was the service. I can’t remember the name of our server but she was wonderful and completely non judgemental that we knew nothing about the menu (and had never had sushi or sashimi before). She was really helpful for us to decide what the right thing was for us to order. This restaurant has quickly worked its way into one of my favourite restaurants in Calgary. I truly hope I can go again soon. It’s way too expensive for a regular thing but worth every penny. Maybe I can convince my parents to take me for my graduation, lol. Every single item was fantastic. The cocktails were fantastic. No notes.

I’ve been here twice and both visits were amazing. The food is super fresh and full of flavor, and everything is beautifully plated. The staff are kind and welcoming, and the whole atmosphere is cozy and relaxing. You can really feel the care they put into every dish. Definitely one of my favorite spots. I’ll be coming back again for sure!

Fantastic Experience – A Must-Try! Had an amazing experience here! From start to finish, everything was spot on. The atmosphere was welcoming, and our waitress was incredible—she really knew her stuff and helped us choose the perfect dishes when we weren’t sure what to order. We tried the sashimi, scallops, and negitoro. Everything was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. It was great getting to try new things, and I’d absolutely come back for more. Highly recommend!
